Following on from winning our area hockey tournament on Thursday 3rd March 2016 the hockey team took part in the North Oxfordshire area final of the Oxfordshire School Sports Partnership hockey tournament.
The standard of the teams was very high with most schools having regular hockey club players in their teams. We played five games against other Oxfordshire Schools and won two and lost three.
It was again a very spirited performance from our team consisting of Ben S, Lilymae B, Uriah D, Jordan J, Jake D,Teila M and Thomas H. We had two new players join the squad Sophie M and Joey S who stepped in as goalkeeper for his first ever game and did extremely well.
On a less happy note Teila M unfortunately broke her finger in the final game. She dealt with it in the battling spirit that she showed through both tournaments. Here is to a speedy recovery as we need you back in the netball team.
Thank you to the parents who came to support the team in both tournaments.
We are hoping that some of these players and others from school will join Banbury Hockey club and advance their skills further. www.banburyhockeyclub.co.uk
Hill View Hockey Team Win
On Thursday 25th February 2016 Hill View School hockey team took part in the Banbury area North Oxfordshire School Sports Partnership hockey tournament.
We played five games against other Banbury Schools and drew one and won four. We scored seven goals and conceded none.
This was a fantastic achievement as we had only trained together a few times. Every player contributed to the team performance and we won the tournament.
The captain of Banbury Hockey club congratulated the players on their skill levels and for their team play. He was keen for the players to join Banbury Hockey Club junior section. www.banburyhockeyclub.co.uk
Good luck to the team as we now progress to the North Oxfordshire Area final on Thursday 3rd March.
