Family Support

Mrs Nicky Andrews

Nicky Andrews is our Safeguarding and Welfare Lead

Nicky has a diverse range of professional skills to support children, young people and families.

The aim of her work is:

          • To enable children to access and benefit from the best educational opportunities by supporting Mums and Dads, carers and families with their individual needs
          • Promote positive links between the home, school, local organisations and agencies so that families receive the best care and support that is available to them

Nicky can offer support with:

HOME SCHOOL LINK:

Did you have a tough time at school and do teachers still scare you? Our childhood experiences often stick with us and inhibit how we interact with others in the present day.  If you have a problem and you are not sure how to talk to school about it or you would like to speak to someone in confidence, then Nicky is willing to listen and can offer you support

FAMILY MATTERS:

Nicky has information on organisations that can support families through difficult times such as bereavement, separation, unemployment and illness.

CHALLENGING BEHAVIOUR:

No one has ever claimed to be the perfect parent.  It is a tough job and is not easy all of the time. If your child is presenting you with some difficult behaviour then please do not suffer in silence. Support is out there for you.

TRANSITION TO SECONDARY SCHOOL:

This is a tricky time for children. If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to ask for help. Nicky can help with both primary and secondary school in order to help you and your child move on smoothly.

MONEY MATTERS:

Nicky has information on benefits, helpful local charities, accessible grants and organisations that can help families on a low income

If you feel you and your family would benefit from support, please feel free to pop into school office and leave your contact details.

You may find us seeking consent for Nicky to work with your child at school.  She runs a number of interventions to support children with their emotional and social development including……….

PROTECTIVE BEHAVIOURS: a 1:1 programme of work which supports children in knowing how to keep themselves safe and recognise potential risks around them.

LISTENING SHOP: A lunchtime group for children to talk about their worries and feelings

FRIENDSHIP GROUP: a chance for children of any age to develop skills needed for healthy and positive relationships
