What’s been happening so far:
What an exciting few months we have had, including the 50th anniversary school reunion day, year 6 disco and barbeque, and summer fair.
We’ve also been busy working on plans for further events to take place in the Autumn and at Christmas, so read on for more information.
5o years – and counting…
The reunion to celebrate 50 years of Hill View raised £337.75, but more importantly brought old friends together again, while taking a trip back down memory lane and seeing teachers and other Hill View staff who some worked at the school from the very start! The PTA thoroughly enjoyed themselves, thank you every-one who made it a success.
Chocolate Quiz – mmmm
Thank you to everyone who took part on the chocolate quiz, and congratulations to the winner.
Burgers and Boogie (and Booze!)
The year 6 disco was a great success, giving the older children a chance to let down their hair and enjoy time with friends, family and teachers before leaving Hill View. There was a barbeque and a bar for parents, which proved to be very popular. Even the PTA got up for a dance at the end, but hopefully there is no video evidence to prove it!
All the fun of the fair…
After the disappointment of England failing to reach the World Cup final, there was only one thing left to do on July 15th – head to the fantastic Hill View School summer fair! There were loads of different stalls and games for pupils and parents to enjoy, and even the teachers got into the spirit by getting wet in the stocks – which raised nearly £100 alone. There was a baking competition with lots of interesting and tasty entries in all the different categories.
In total the disco and fair raised over £1700 profit, and as it was the school’s first summer fair for a few years, the experience should help to make it even better next year. Thank you to all the helpers and staff who worked really hard to make the event a success, and congratulations to the winners of all the competitions.
Don’t be a mug or you’ll miss out…
…on the exclusive Hill View 50th anniversary mug and tea towel – for only £5 each they make a great gift for grandparents and relatives, or just for doing your washing up! Order yours from the school reception.
Thank you parents and carers!
We just want to say a big thank you, to every-one who has helped make our PTA journey more easy since we started in December 2017 by supporting our events, along with donating bottles for the school non-uniform day on the 5th July, and supplying cakes that we were able to sell off on the 15th July.
SAVE THE DATE!!
D.I.S.C.O Date 18th October
We are having another disco, this time it will be Spooktacular! Children can come in their Halloween costumes and have a dance with some spooky music.
Christmas grotto is coming back to Hill View
After last years success, Santa has specifically asked if he or Mrs Santa can come back to meet the wonderful children at our school. This will be held outside the top hall by the A block, and all children will receive a small present. There will also be a couple of crafts available for the children to take part in.
Christmas Fayre 25th November
We are holding a Christmas fayre, where you can come and have a look and buy some homemade treats for your family, friends or maybe yourself! This will be held over the top and lower hall between 1-5pm and is open to the public, so bring your family along.
